The Indonesian Trade and Tourism Promotion (ITTP) trade show held by the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh from August 4-6 at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition in Cambodia generated potential transactions of up to one million US dollars (approximately Rp15.2 billion).
Three trade agreements were signed at the 2023 ITTP in Cambodia, with total potential transactions for cooking oil, furniture, pharmaceuticals, processed foods, and travel packages reaching more than Rp15.2 billion, according to a written statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh, two of the agreements were between PT Wahyu Bunga Nuswantara and TrueHome Co., Ltd. and state-owned enterprises: PT. Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) with Ung Kheang Group and PT. Kimia Farma with K-1000 Trading Co. Ltd.
The Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh (ITTP) is an integrated promotional event regularly held by the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh since 2006 to promote Indonesia in various sectors, including trade and tourism, education, arts, culture, and culinary arts.
The 2023 ITTP, themed “Strengthening Cooperation Through Collaboration,” is the 14th ITTP held by the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia. The event was suspended for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ITTP is expected to support national economic recovery efforts by encouraging Indonesian product exports and Cambodian tourist visits to Indonesia.
The 2023 ITTP was attended by 19 participants from Indonesia, including two state-owned enterprises (SOEs), namely PT PPI and Bio Farma Group. This year’s ITTP in Cambodia was also attended and supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Indonesian Ministry of Trade.
The opening of ITTP 2023 was attended by the Indonesian Chargé d’Affaires Ad Interim (KUAI) in Phnom Penh Lauti Nia Astri, Minister Delegates Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, Chhuon Dara and Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism Thong Rathasak.
